Ancho Chili Pepper
The ancho is a ripened poblano pepper which brings out sweetness and a smokiness flavor of the pepper. Its made from the outer flesh giving it an intense wonderfully rich flavor with almost no heat. Great base for Mexican dishes, chili, sauces and meat rubs. The rich flavor also pairs well with chocolate. Try adding to brownies, cakes or hot cocoa. It enhances the flavor without the heat.
